To succeed in 1st through 3rd grade at Collett Elementary, students work towards key academic goals outlined in the Common Core State Standards.

By the end of 1st grade, students are expected to have a solid foundation in reading, writing, and math, including the ability to read and comprehend short texts independently, write simple sentences, and add and subtract within 20.

In 2nd grade, students aim to enhance their reading fluency, develop more complex writing skills with details, and master two-digit addition and subtraction.

By 3rd grade, the focus shifts to reading longer texts fluently with comprehension, writing paragraphs with proper grammar and punctuation, and multiplying and dividing within 100.
